Initial Ideas

I initially wanted to set my trailer in a mental asylum, using a modern day hospital and a decaying hospital to convey this effect. I would use a black and white effect in the modern hospital to signify flashbacks and visual bridges such as a teddy bear to show the character is the same as in the older hospital. The narrative is a girl who was put in a mental hospital after attacking her boyfriend escapes and kills him and his past girlfriends. I developed this idea from studying films such as Gothika (Mathieu Kassovitz 2003)

However after further consideration and due to being unable to access a hospital ward to film in I decided to adapt my idea.
From my genre research I found within the slasher genre a popular narrative is one of teens trespassing on "primal murderous forces". My idea was to have a group of teens at a party, 3 boys and 3 girls. Two of the more promiscuous girls go upstairs with two of the boys leaving the last boy with the more innocent final girl. The boy tries it on with her, she doesn't respond and he becomes bored. When the two couples come back down the boy gathers them in a circle and tells them a story about and old haunted mental hospital down the road from where they are. He tells them about an caretaker there who went mad and killed a group of teenagers, its rumored he still roams the grounds. The girls are skeptical but one of the boys persuades them to go check it out. They go explore the building and one of the couples sneak off to what they believe is an another abandoned building but what is actually the old caretakers house. The girl becomes nervous and the boy goes to look. The girl goes to look for the boy and is killed. Two other teenagers are killed and the final girl is left to kill the murderer. I gained some inspiration for this idea from the remake of Friday the 13th (2009 Marcus Nispel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47cjQsDQPSk) which begins with a group of teenagers trespassing in Crystal Lake and being subsequently killed, along with some black and white flashbacks simmilar to what i intend to use in my production.
