Ancillary research-Magazine front covers

I began by looking at other popular British film magazines, particularly Empire. I looked especially at the layout noting details such as fonts and sizes, backgrounds, photos and colour schemes. Particular techniques I noted were block capital sans serif font is generally used along with a large title covering about a quarter of the page. A large feature picture is used of an actor from a relevent film either in or out of character with images elsewhere in the style of film strips or fanned out playing cards for example.
